There's Nothing Like Australia - RedHotPie

With the new ‘There's Nothing Like Australia’ campaign being launched by Tourism Australia recently, we here at RedHotPie HQ are feeling especially patriotic (and rightly so). It’s got us thinking about the online dating landscape in Australia and just how un-Australian it is becoming.

With what appears to be an effect of the GFC in Europe and America, Australia has seen an explosion of international dating sites pushing into the local marketplace in an attempt to prop up sagging revenues in their home territories - a move that obviously been made due to desperation rather than good business practice. Australia only has 22 million people!! It seems these offshore sites have focused solely on Australia’s enviable weathering of the GFC rather than the limited size of our market. The reality is that Australians have been well served by home-grown, world leading online dating sites like RedHotPie, Adult Matchmaker, RSVP and Yes Dating for the last decade.

Whilst RedHotPie has a much loved loyal user/member base, every business needs to continually attract new clients and it's with this in mind that I ask every Aussie to take a pause the next time they are about to use or spend money with an online dating site and ask themselves, ‘is this site Australian? Will my subscription fees or message credit payments stay in Australia, paying wages of Aussies, and yes, making profits for Australian companies who employ Aussies?’
Don't send your money and Australian jobs overseas. Be Australian, buy Australian and date with an Aussie!

RedHotPie is proudly Australian owned; it’s made by Aussies, employing Aussies, for Aussies...you simply can't get better than that.

regards,

Max

The Great Australian Sex Census by RedHotPie

Last week we launched The Great Australian Sex Census. We thought it our duty to find out what really goes on in the bedrooms, bathrooms and even maybe the backyards of Australia so we know how sexy us Aussies really are. Like the Australian Bureau of Statistics Census, we hope to grab a snapshot of Australians is in the early 21st century but we are asking the questions the ABS are too afraid to ask.

The Great Australian Sex Census 2009 is designed to find out who we like and how we like it in this day and age and I’m sure the results will be very interesting and enlightening.

We need the biggest group of respondents we can possibly get so the results have a true reflection of sexy modern Australia. Our target is 20,000 responses so if you haven’t completed the Sex Census yet please hop to it as well as tell all your friends please. The GASC closes 31st October.

Looking forward to the results.

More RHP success

Another RHP success story/testimonial has recently hit our desk from bettyboop03 to let us know that RedHotPie help her find the man of her dreams and they have recently married and are now extremely happy. She also went on to thank RHP for helping them find each other.

Now I have to tell you that nothing excites us in the RHP bunker more than hearing that all the hard work done at this end has resulted in two people finding the happiness of an enduring relationship. Congratulations guys and we all wish you happiness and a great life together.

If you have not yet taken a peek into the Testimonials pages it is certainly worth a few minutes as there is a huge number of past and present RHP’ers who have taken the time to share their RHP success experiences.

Whilst the large and diverse community of RedHotPie is many things to many people, at its core is ability for people to connect and slanted towards actually meeting with a view to some kind of relationship. When that happens, it makes the RHP team very proud that the product created and grown with effort from heart and soul is connecting a lot of people and making a lot of people very happy.

I’m sure there is still many thousands of untold RHP hook-up stories so please take a moment to click the link and tell us about your successful RHP experience.

Out and about

The RHP team and I got along to our favourite WA based kinkster party SPANK last Saturday night. A big congrats to Helen and Keith and the whole Spank crew for another top night. Doctors and Nurses was the theme and the party goers certainly made the effort with a large contingent of naughty nurses and dashing doctors to be found. We saw quite a bit of mouth to mouth going on and some physical examinations being performed. It was great to have the opportunity to say hi to the many RHP’ers there. Of course, we’ll be back again next time.

Mark and ‘friends’ went along to the great PURR party in Melbourne the weekend before and found the crowd partying harder and naughtier than ever. Enthusiastic as always the PURR parties crowd made a big night of it. As always, a big part of the crowd were RHP’ers who are always up and out for a good time.

As usual, both of these top notch events were supported by RHP as a small part of our way of giving back to the RHP nation.

In the RHP office this month, like most workplaces, the team have been waging the winter war against colds and flu with team members going down for a day or two recovering. I was supposed to be a judge at the Miss Nude Australia finals at the Crazyhorse in Adelaide this week but unfortunately I had to cancel falling victim to something nasty for a couple of days as well.

As an FYI for those who are interested the RHP payroll numbers 15 covering admin, marketing, IT guru’s, web developers and site content and moderating staff.

Anyway until my next update we hope you keep enjoying your RHP experience and please tell your friends about RHP.

Cheers, Max.

RHP big in the media

Sorry it’s been a little while in updating my blog but it sure has been a busy month in between. Over the past few weeks RHP has been in the media everywhere. TV, Radio, Newspapers and a whole bunch of websites picked up on the results from our fun state v’s state, guys rate girls/girls rate guys survey and shared it with the whole of Australia. We made the front page of the Hobart Mercury and the media in the ACT was all a buzz with what the girls had to say about guys there...LOL. It was also a popular subject on metro and regional radio station breakfast shows and Kerri-Anne had a bit of a giggle while talking about it during her channel 9 morning show.

Also, our good friends Bryan and Leesa from Couples International Club in Brisbane were on radio with Kyle & Jackie O talking about their polyamorous relationship, and of course, RedHotPie, and the him half of RHP’s awesome ‘Date Doctors’ duo Bessie Bardot and Geoff Barker did a few radio interviews to drop the RHP brand name.

Back in the RHP bunker we have been working away tidying up a few loose ends on the new site. On RHP itself, the new format for Forums is going great with the number of daily posts doubling since the new site went live and if you have never taken a look in our Adult Forums then pop on in because you’ll find a lot of awesome RHP’ers contributing their thoughts to some really interesting discussions.

Cheers,
Max

Is new always better?

Well here we are about a week into the new RedHotPie and in the main it has been met with enthusiasm and positive comment by RHP’ers. Some users though have questioned why we wanted to or bothered to make a new look RHP. I wonder if the naysayers simply don’t like change and are uncomfortable with not having things exactly where they were use to it previously.

That then brings us to the title question, is new always better? Well we here in the RHP team certainly hope so as the whole team has put their heart and soul (not to mention a big pile of money) into creating the new RHP. So, why did we do it? For several reason really, just like car makers create new models of their cars to make something that is starting to look a little tired and dated into something fresh, new and exciting, we wanted to create a fresh, new and exciting RHP which would be a better user experience for you all. The old RHP site had served all us swingers very well for many years but was seriously web 1.0 and it has been quite a few years now since modern web design and architecture had moved past the web 2.0 mark. We wanted a wider format so there was more ‘white space’ available to make looking at the site softer and cleaner and we needed more space to add in more fun stuff on particular pages. The old RHP site had been built in pieces over the years and bolted together which wasn’t the ideal situation, the new site has been seamlessly built in one go by a coordinated team effort and is now easier for future development and ongoing maintenance.

I personally think change is great. Change makes you think.....with our desire to update RHP it certainly gave us the opportunity to think about how we can make RedHotPie better for you to use, and more desirable for you to use. We certainly didn’t invest the thinking, time, stress, effort and money without having ‘make it better’ as our goal.

Ultimately, as I said in my opening par, the majority of RHP’ers have loved the new site and we’d like to say thanks for your positive feedback.

RedHotPie unveils exciting new user interface

Welcome to the brand spanking new RHP. The RedHotPie techos’, designers and marketing gurus (as well as everyone else in the office) have been working their little fingers to the bone for the past year or so to create the first ever ‘cover to cover’ rebuild of the RHP site since it first went live in December 2002. We hope you really like it.

We wanted to achieve a fresh modern look that is easier to use and packs in a whole lot more fun. It became quite obvious to us some time ago that lots of RHPer’s are using the site for their sexy social networking as well as those who use it to make dates. I remember recently reading a girls RHP profile recently that said “this site is like a sexier Facebook”. So with these things in mind we’ve added some cool social networking style info and user connectivity as well as enhancing a lot of the other regular RHP features and applications. I particularly like the new user profile with its wider, cleaner look and a couple of excellent tools like the slideshow player for photos and a new button called ‘Short List’ where you can add people to your short list when you are looking through profiles so you can come back to them at the end and easily relook at the ones that caught your eye. I know I’m looking forward to using this tool in my searches (yes, I do use RHP as well to find my hot dates....lol).

Another new addition is to the Amateur Pics section called ‘Hot or What?’. This is RHP’s new photo rating fun and is sure to get a solid working out as it makes it really easy to cruise through users profile pics. As Adult Forums are a big part of what many RHPer’s like to use we have now given them their own tab in the top navigation bar for easier access and topics are now shown Australia wide as default and state based topics as sub-sections. There is a bunch more new stuff that we hope you enjoy finding and using as well as more new features to be rolled out over the coming months.

I really want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the whole RHP team for their extreme efforts and dedication not only to this new RHP project but for turning up every day to the RHP bunker with the single minded notion of making RedHotPie the best online dating and social networking experience for users and members.

As this is my first blog entry I hope you enjoyed reading it and I will be adding to it regularly so please check back from time to time and catch up with what’s going on in RHP land.
